Atrial fibrillation would appear to be the disease of the decade. The aging of the population, better detection methods, new agents to prevent stroke are among the major advances but unless there is a "cure" the disease progressively advances with greater frequency and additional burden of disease. Pharmacologic agents have not provided such a cure. Is ablation the answer? How can we improve the chances of success? This series will examine the data, the patients, and technological advances in the quest to control this perplexing disease.
