Target Audience and Goal Statement

​​This activity is intended for primary care physicians, infectious disease specialists, pulmonologists, emergency medicine physicians, critical care specialists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physician assistants.​

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to optimize syndromic testing strategies for upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs).

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Key characteristics of FDA-approved rapid/multiplex PCR panels for URTIs
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Utilizing FDA-approved syndromic respiratory panels in order to tailor management strategies
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Implement diagnostic stewardship with rapid syndromic panels when testing for URTIs
