Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for physicians and nurse specialists in hematology/oncology.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to understand the long-term nature of later-line therapies for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), and to help them develop a patient-centric approach to management that includes quality of life considerations, adverse event management, and shared decision-making (SDM) to ensure optimal outcomes and long-term adherence to therapy. 

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding
    • Clinical safety data for CML therapies
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Selecting and sequencing treatments for CML
    • Implementing effective patient-centric communication techniques
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Engage patients with CML in SDM conversations about their treatment
