Target Audience and Goal Statement

This educational activity is intended for an international audience of non-US neurologists and primary care physicians practicing in Europe.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to describe the key features of biologic and biosimilar medicines and identify the similarities and differences between them.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Key features of biologic medicines and their inherent variability
    • Basic biosimilar terminology (eg, interchangeability, switching, totality of evidence)
    • Regulatory approval process of biosimilars
