Target Audience and Goal Statement

This educational activity is intended for pediatricians, cardiologists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other clinicians who treat patients with lipid disorders.

The goal of this activity for learners to be better able to treat pediatric patients with HoFH, including how and when to incorporate novel therapies into patient management.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Gaps in the treatment of pediatric HoFH
    • Novel therapeutic strategies to lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in pediatric patients with HoFH
  • Have greater competence related to
    • The integration of new therapeutic approaches to lipid lowering in appropriate pediatric patients with HoFH to reach LDL-C goals
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Identify pediatric patients with HoFH who may benefit from the addition of angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) inhibition therapy to their lipid-lowering treatment regimen to attain LDL-C goals
