Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for primary care physicians, obstetrician/gynecologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and emergency medicine specialists.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to manage occasional and chronic constipation in adult patients based on current clinical guidance.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Over-the-counter treatment options for constipation
  • Self-assess learning needs related to
    • Managing chronic and occasional constipation
