Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for cardiologists, pulmonologists, primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH).

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to understand the practicalities of using therapies that target the prostacyclin pathway and effective clinician-patient strategies to improve adherence and treatment success.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Long-term benefits of prostacyclin pathway-targeted therapy for PAH
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Appropriate use of prostacyclin pathway-targeted treatment into the care of appropriate patients with PAH
    • Communication with patients about the benefits and risks of prostacyclin pathway-targeted therapy for PAH
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to improve treatment adherence and success
