Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for primary care physicians, neurologists, cardiologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, and occupational therapists.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to appropriately refer medically or functionally impaired older drivers to licensing agencies.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Functions of medical advisory boards in state driver medical reviews
    • Role of medical advisory boards in ensuring older driver safety
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Work with the interprofessional team to identify medically or functionally impaired older drivers who should be referred to licensing agencies
