Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for ophthalmologists, optometrists, and diabetologists and endocrinologists.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to describe and manage the increased risk for age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in women.

At the conclusion of this program learners will be better able to:

  • Describe gender-related health risks in AMD
  • Outline treatment options for patients with AMD
  • Consider systemic anagenetic factors related to AMD risk in women
  • Identify long-term AMD treatment strategies for women
