Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for neurologists, primary care physicians, and nurses.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to utilize appropriate dosing or reduce the number of antiseizure medications (ASMs) with the goal of reducing adverse events and maintaining efficacy.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Recommended dosing changes to consider when adding a new ASM to an ongoing treatment regimen
    • Factors involved in identifying people with epilepsy who may benefit from a reduction in the number of ASMs that they are receiving
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Utilize appropriate strategies to reduce the risk of ASM-related adverse events in people with epilepsy
