Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for gastroenterologists, primary care physicians, and surgeons.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to identify opportunities for improving early referral and diagnosis of ulcerative colitis (UC) through identification of early red flags and implementing an effective multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach in the region.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Strategies for optimizing early diagnosis of UC
    • Red flags for early referral to specialist care
    • Role of the MDT in optimizing outcomes for patients with UC
