Seventy percent of patients with bipolar depression are misdiagnosed at their initial visit. This worsens their prognosis, results in mistreatment, decreased quality of life, and increased suicide risk. The symptoms of a bipolar depressive episode are identical to unipolar depression. Learn from James S. Manning, MD, and Sara Jones, PhD, APRN, as they discuss tools and strategies to improve diagnostic accuracy and optimize treatment.
