Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for nephrologists, hematologists/oncologists, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses.

The goal of this activity is to improve the recognition of the burden of anemia of CKD, including disparities in health care, knowledge of the pathophysiology of anemia of CKD, and strategies to improve undertreatment.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Gaps in anemia of CKD diagnosis and treatment that negatively impact patients' health and quality of life (QOL)
  • Demonstrate improved performance associated with
    • Team-based screening, diagnosis, and management of anemia of CKD
    • Team-based patient education and counseling for effective shared decision-making
