Target Audience and Goal Statement

This educational activity is intended for an international audience of non-US primary care physicians, ENT physicians, dentists, obstetricians/gynecologists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and nurses.

The goal of this activity is that learners will be better able to understand how HPV causes head and neck cancer in order to improve adoption among pharmacists or improve their ability to communicate with patients.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Data on HPV-related head and neck cancers
    • Benefits seen with the HPV vaccine in terms of prevention of head and neck cancers
    • Benefits of increasing pharmacist engagement with potential HPV vaccine recipients to increase uptake
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Facilitate communication between primary care physicians and pharmacists regarding HPV vaccination
