Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for pediatricians, neurologists, critical care specialists, and nurses.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to increase their awareness of symptoms of Menkes disease, to differentiate Menkes disease from other conditions, and to understand the importance of early diagnosis in relation to maximizing the treatment response.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Primary early symptoms suggestive of Menkes disease
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Early diagnosis of patients with Menkes disease
