Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for critical care specialists, infectious disease specialists, pulmonologists, pediatricians, and emergency medicine physicians.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be more knowledgeable about rapid molecular testing for respiratory tract infections in different clinical settings.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Organisms detected by rapid molecular multiplex panel tests for upper RTIs
    • Impact of rapid molecular multiplex panel tests for acute upper RTIs on patient health outcomes
    • Impact of rapid molecular multiplex panel tests for acute upper RTIs on antimicrobial stewardship
