Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for neurologists, primary care providers, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses/advanced practice nurses.

The goal of this activity is for the learner to be better able to demonstrate awareness of health inequity among patients with MS by offering an educational program using case examples to demonstrate practical strategies of integrating culturally appropriate communication and evidence-based approaches to care informed by SDOH for patients with MS.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Clinical data on evidence of disparities in care among racial/ethnic minority patients with MS
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Approaches for addressing common causes of disparities in MS care among patients of diverse racial or ethnic backgrounds
