Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for radiologists, radiologic technologists, oncologists, pathologists, obstetricians & gynecologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons (including surgical oncologists), primary care physicians (PCPs), internal medicine specialists, nurses/nurse practitioners (NPs), and physician assistants (PAs) involved in the care of patients with or at risk of breast cancer.

The goal of this activity is for the learner to be better able to use imaging to accurately assess treatment response to neoadjuvant therapy and effectively collaborate to provide patients with the best possible options for treatment of their early breast cancer.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Role of MRI in assessing treatment response to neoadjuvant therapy in patients with early breast cancer
    • Importance of collaboration between radiology and oncology that is essential for improving treatment of patients with breast cancer
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Utilize MRI to inform treatment decisions for patients undergoing adjuvant treatment of breast cancer
