Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for cardiologists, primary care physicians, and surgeons.

The goal of this activity is that learners will be better able to understand best practices to integrate the latest evidence and guidelines for the use of early rhythm control with antiarrhythmic drugs (AADs) in patients with AF, including recent AF, early AF, and concomitant AF and heart failure (HF).

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have greater competence related to
    • The application of clinical trial findings regarding early rhythm control with AADs to real-world management of patients with AF to improve long-term outcomes
    • The selection of appropriate AADs in patients with AF in different clinical situations based on the latest clinical evidence and practice guidelines
