Presenting condition: Body mass index (BMI) of 28.0, history of asthma controlled with bronchodilators and steroid inhalers, 5-year history of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Olivia is a 62-year-old woman who presented to her gynecologist with postmenopausal vaginal bleeding. A mass was found on a gynecologic exam and a biopsy confirmed grade II endometrioid carcinoma. CT and MRI were negative for distant metastases. She subsequently underwent total hysterectomy with no residual disease. Final staging confirmed stage IIIA endometrial cancer, and molecular analysis showed MSI-high status. Olivia received initial carboplatin plus paclitaxel, and she now presents 8 months later with evidence of recurrence.
