Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for hematology/oncology (hem/onc) specialists, gastroenterologists, nurse practitioners, and nurses.

The goal of this activity is that learners will be better able to identify the prevalence, burden, and consequences of health disparities in the care and outcomes for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Etiology of health disparities in care for patients with HCC
    • Management of modifiable risk factors that may drive health disparities in care for patients with HCC
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Collaborating with the interprofessional healthcare team to employ strategies to address health disparities in the care of patients with HCC
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Overcome barriers associated with health disparities in HCC outcomes
