Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for primary care physicians, pediatricians, infectious disease specialists, hematologists and oncologists, diabetologists and endocrinologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, and pharmacists.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to motivate healthcare professionals from different specialties and professions with a call to action to increase immunization rates among adolescents through older adults. This educational initiative is designed to effect change in clinician knowledge and competence that will translate into improved quality of patient care.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have greater competence related to
    • Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations to increase immunization rates among adults
    • Applying ACIP recommendations to increase immunization rates for patients at increased risk for severe vaccine-preventable disease
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Collaborate with members of the interprofessional healthcare team to increase immunization rates among adolescents through older adults
