Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, allergists, immunologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who manage patients with lung/liver disease and concomitant conditions.

The goal of this activity is that learners will be better able to appropriately screen for and diagnose lung/liver disease and concomitant conditions in specific at-risk populations and provide patients with evidence-based management strategies.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge and demonstrate improved performance associated with:
    • Screening appropriate patient populations with lung and/or liver disease for concomitant conditions
    • Identifying patients with rare genetic mutations
    • Selecting appropriate therapy for patients with lung/liver disease and concomitant conditions
    • Selecting appropriate nonpharmacologic interventions for patients with lung/liver disease and concomitant conditions
