Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for cardiologists, emergency medicine physicians, and all clinicians interested in identifying patients with acute coronary syndrome.

The goal of this activity is to improve integration of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (HS-cTn) into clinical practice.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge of the
    • Use of hs-cTn in recognizing acute myocardial infarction (AMI)
    • Initiation of hs-cTn in the emergency department setting
  • Have greater competence in the
    • Use of hs-cTn assays for ruling in or out AMI
