Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for neurologists, pediatricians, primary care physicians, and nurses.

The goal of this activity is to increase awareness of signs and symptoms suggestive of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in adolescents and adults; increase awareness of burden of disease among adolescents and adults; and increase awareness of resources in the transition from pediatric to adult care.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Symptom presentation of SMA in adolescents and adults
    • Nature of symptom burden associated with SMA in adolescents and adults
