Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for psychiatrists, primary care physicians (PCPs), neurologists, nurse practitioners (NPs), and physician assistants (PAs) involved in the care of patients with neuropsychiatric conditions.

The goal of this activity is to increase clinicians' knowledge in sleep disorders and narcolepsy in psychiatric patients and how to manage them.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Role of sleep in daily function
    • Relationship between sleep disorders and psychiatric disorders
    • Recognition of symptoms associated with narcolepsy
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Selecting appropriate therapies for the management of insomnia
    • Personalizing the selection of therapies for the management of narcolepsy
