Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for gastroenterologists, primary care physicians (PCPs), nurses, and other healthcare providers (HCPs) involved in the management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

The goal of this activity is to improve HCPs' knowledge and competence related to inequalities in delivery of care among racial and ethnic minorities with IBD, and strategies for alleviating these inequalities.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Prevalence and burden of IBD among different racial and ethnic groups
    • Impact of healthcare disparities among patients of different racial and ethnic groups who have IBD
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Using strategies to improve access to health care among racially diverse patients with IBD
