Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for primary care and endocrinology nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), primary care physicians (PCPs), and diabetologists/endocrinologists involved in the diagnosis and management of metabolic and endocrine disorders.

The goal of this activity is to enhance the ability of advanced practice clinicians to treat and manage patients with pre-diabetes, type 1 diabetes (T1D), and type 2 diabetes (T2D).

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Clinical signs and symptoms of endocrine disorders
    • Patient assessment criteria to diagnose metabolic- and endocrine-related disorders
    • Guideline recommendations and best practices for individualized treatment of metabolic- and endocrine-related disorders
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Diagnosing metabolic- and endocrine-related disorders
    • Individualizing treatment in patients with metabolic- and endocrine-related disorders
