Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for ophthalmologists, pediatricians, nephrologists, primary care physicians, medical geneticists, cardiologists, neurologists, and other clinicians involved the management of patients with nephropathic cystinosis (NC).

The goal of this activity is to discuss strategies to prevent disease progression and enhance quality of life of patients with nephropathic cystinosis and affected families, with regards to eye health.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Burden of nephropathic cystinosis treatment on patients and their families
    • Management of ocular manifestations of nephropathic cystinosis
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Counsel patients and their families in order to increase adherence
