Target Audience and Goal Statement

This educational activity is intended for an international audience of non-US primary care physicians, pediatricians, and infectious disease/HIV specialists.

The goal of this activity is to improve prescreening for prior exposure to dengue to ensure that the broadest possible vaccine serotype coverage is available to eligible persons living in areas endemic for dengue.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Serotypes of dengue virus
    • Proper use of pre-vaccination screening tools to optimize benefits and minimize the risks of dengue vaccination
  • Have greater competence related to
    • The ability to communicate the concept of “screen and vaccinate” to patients
