Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for cardiologists and primary care physicians.

The goal of this activity is to improve performance in applying the newest lipid-lowering guidelines.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Demonstrate improved performance associated with
    • Assessing patients to determine risk for a recurrent cardiovascular event
    • Tailoring lipid-lowering therapy in very high-risk patients to reduce the risk for recurrent CV events
    • Ordering nonpharmacologic therapy proven beneficial for patients at high risk for recurrent CV events
