Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for a global audience of transplant surgeons, nephrologists, and obstetricians/gynecologists.

The goal of this activity is to educate clinicians on the benefits and risks of immunosuppressive therapy (IST) in patients of childbearing potential post-kidney transplant and strategies for their safe use in clinical practice.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Risks associated with use of IST during pregnancy
    • Recommended strategies for the safe use of IST in patients of childbearing potential post-kidney transplant
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Find the best patient communication strategies regarding the benefit-risk profile of IST in kidney transplantation
