Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for diabetologists & endocrinologists, cardiologists, obstetricians & gynecologists, rheumatologists, oncologists, and primary care physicians.

The goal of this activity is to educate physicians on the health consequences of obesity, the health benefits of weight loss, and strategies to achieve weight loss.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Negative health outcomes associated with patients who are overweight/obese
    • The benefits of weight loss on overall health and individual comorbidities
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Assessment of weight loss needs in patients undergoing management of various chronic diseases
