Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for cardiologists, primary care physicians, diabetologists & endocrinologists, nurse practitioners and nurses.

The goal of this activity is to increase knowledge about statin selection and dose optimization in the setting of new-onset diabetes mellitus (NODM) and to gain more confidence in optimizing lipid management in complex patients.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Statin selection and dose optimization in the setting of NODM
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Use of effective lipid-lowering strategies in complex patients to improve lipid management
