This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.

The goal of this activity is to update clinicians on the personal protective equipment (PPE) supply crisis amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic: what led to it and possible solutions clinicians can take to stay safe.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Identify the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) recommendations for PPE in CONTINGENCY or CRISIS CAPACITY settings with routine visits
  • List the most critical issues around use and reuse of PPE
  • Outline Implications for the healthcare team
