Target Audience and Goal Statement

This educational activity is intended for an international audience of non-US primary care physicians, pulmonologists, and allergists & clinical immunologists, involved in the management of asthma.

The goal of this activity is to increase knowledge on the assessment of patients with uncontrolled asthma in order to improve competence in early identification and referral of severe asthma patients.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

Have increased knowledge regarding the
- Key differences between "difficult to manage" and severe asthma in terms of patient evaluation and disease management
- Guideline recommendations on implementing inhaled and oral therapies for asthma
Have greater competence related to
- Diagnosing and referring all patients with severe asthma to specialist care (ie, pulmonologists or allergists)
