Target Audience and Goal Statement

This educational activity is intended for an international audience of non-US primary care physicians, diabetologists & endocrinologists, and cardiologists.

The goal of this activity is to improve/maintain physician competency in the management of obesity including unmet patient needs and the application of new treatment paradigms, and to increase awareness of emerging data on new therapeutic options.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Physiology and complexity of obesity as a chronic disease requiring long-term treatment
    • Enduring weight loss achievable via a collaborative and integrated approach
    • Concrete health benefits of moderate but sustained weight loss
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Selecting appropriate evidence-based pharmacotherapy for sustained weight loss

    All SCOPE E-Learning modules referred to below can be accessed via www.scope-elearning.org. The Core Learning Path can be accessed for £70 (with discounts available for World Obesity members and HCPs in low-and-middle income countries) and all other modules are available for free.

    Step 1: Complete the SCOPE Core Learning Path

    = 4 SCOPE points

    Step 2: Complete the following SCOPE Accredited Medscape activities below are the programs in this year’s initiative:
