Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for primary care physicians, infectious diseases/HIV specialists, and public health and preventive medicine specialists.

The goal of this activity is to improve knowledge regarding the benefits of treatment as prevention (TasP) for patients living with HIV and the best practices for implementing TasP in clinical practice.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Data supporting TasP
    • Key barriers/disparities, particularly within the South, that may hinder adoption of TasP
    • Available resources and tools that can be used to facilitate TasP
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Effectively communicate the benefits of treatment for individuals, their loved ones, and/or sex partners
