Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for primary care providers, pediatricians, obstetricians-gynecologists, infectious disease specialists, nurses, and pharmacists.

The goal of this activity is to educate clinicians on updates to and key considerations of rapid influenza diagnostic tests (RIDTs), the interpretation of their results at the point of care (POC) to inform clinical decision-making, and the importance of the interprofessional care team working together to improve patient outcomes.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Recent updates on RIDTs
    • Key considerations for early read-outs
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Interpreting rapid test results at the POC to inform clinical decision-making
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Partner with different members of the interprofessional care team to improve patient outcomes
