Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for pathologists, oncologists, and pulmonologists.

The goal of this symposium is to provide pathologists with the latest information and best practices for molecular testing of patients with EGFR mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) throughout the continuum of disease while keeping in mind the patient's perspective.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Updated guidelines and evidence on biomarker tests that should be ordered to adequately characterize NSCLC
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Strategies improving time to appropriate treatment in patients with newly diagnosed or progressive EGFR-mutated NSCLC, including use of liquid biopsies, next-generation sequencing, and reflex testing
    • How biomarker testing results can be used to guide treatment selection in patients with EGFR-mutated NSCLC in the first, second, and third line
