Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for orthopedists, orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, neurologists, and nurses.

The goal of this activity is to educate clinicians regarding the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis (OA), including the involvement of inflammation in the disease process, and current and appropriate use of anti-inflammatory therapies in the management of OA through patient-focused case studies.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Pathophysiologic mechanisms that underlie the disease process of OA
    • Current and emerging anti-inflammatory therapies for the management of OA
  • Have greater competence related to selecting an appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy for the treatment of OA
