Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for oncology nurses and other healthcare professionals who manage cancer patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors.

The goal of this activity is to discuss the importance of early identification and appropriate management of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in cancer patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

Examine the clinical efficacy, unique response patterns, and safety profiles associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy.
Evaluate the signs and symptoms of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors and understand how to differentiate these from other etiologies.
Review recently published ASCO/NCCN guidelines for the management of irAEs and apply evidence-based recommendations to optimize patient care.
