Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for cardiologists, emergency medicine physicians, neurologists, primary care providers, nurses, and all clinicians interested in atrial fibrillation (AF) and bleeding risk.

The goal of this activity is to improve clinicians' competence related to validated bleeding risk scores for patients with AF.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Clinical utility of currently available, guideline-recommended bleeding risk scores
    • Data supporting the use of different biomarkers to identify patients with AF taking anticoagulant therapy who are at risk of bleeding
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Validated bleeding risk scores for patients with AF
