Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for primary care physicians, ID/HIV specialists, nurses, and public health & preventive medicine specialists.

The goal of this activity is to discuss the use of PrEP in the primary care setting, including patient assessment and management, CDC guidelines, and tips for incorporating this into practice.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the role of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in preventing HIV infection
  2. Summarize key recommendations of the CDC's PrEP guidelines
  3. Identify strategies to integrate use of PrEP in the primary care setting for patients at risk of HIV
