Target Audience and Goal Statement
This educational activity is intended for an international audience of non-US healthcare professionals, specifically interventional
cardiologists, general cardiologists, emergency department physicians, internists, and primary care physicians involved in
the management of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
The goal of this activity is to apply the current European Society of Cardiology guidelines for the use of dual antiplatelet
therapy for the secondary prevention of myocardial infarction and the use of evidence-based therapies for comorbid cardiovascular
(CV) disease with the goal of improving the clinical care of patients with ACS.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Apply the current treatment practice guidelines for the prevention of recurrent CV events following myocardial infarction
- Evaluate the accumulated evidence, including late-breaking data, demonstrating the benefit of dual antiplatelet therapy for
the prevention of recurrent CV events
