Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for clinicians who manage patient care with electronic health records (EHRs) and other technology.

The goal of this activity is to educate clinicians about privacy and communication concerns surrounding the use of EHRs and other technology.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Summarize the common concerns that patients have about EHRs and suggest communication techniques for clinicians to use to address their concerns
  2. Propose methods to address potential privacy and security issues that may arise when using an EHR in the practice setting
