Clinical Advances in
In the primary care setting, the optimal management of severe asthma remains a serious clinical challenge. Many patients do not receive early or appropriate evaluation, and selection of the best treatment is suboptimal. Oral corticosteroids are often overused, and many primary care providers (PCPs) are uncertain about the role of biologics in the treatment algorithm. Referral to respiratory specialists is also delayed, thus compromising the best case for these patients.
Developed in partnership with the International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG) and the World Allergy Organisation (WAO), this educational curriculum will update physicians on the most current treatment guidelines and best practice regarding the management of severe asthma.
