About Electronic Health Records Incentive Programs Learning Center

In February 2009, Congress passed landmark legislation as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act provides an unprecedented opportunity to participate in a program that offers incentive payments to eligible professionals and hospitals for implementation and adoption of the EHR, and demonstration of meaningful use. On this site, leading experts in medical informatics and quality improvement in healthcare provide information, resources, and tools to help you determine eligibility, understand the requirements for participating in the EHR Incentive Programs, take steps to participate, and understand the consequences of not participating.
